2008 Course Info

Garland, as one of Michigan’s finest golf resorts, strolls through 3500 acres of unspoiled wilderness.  The AAA 4-Diamond resort boasts 4 championship caliber golf courses that will offer an exciting backdrop to the 2008 Great Northern Michigan Yoot Shoot!

The courses we have chosen for this year, Swampfire & The Fountains, should provide a challenge that we have never experienced to date in any prior Yoot Shoot.  Unique to both courses is the fact that they both feature (6)-Par 3’s, (6)-Par 4’s and (6)-Par 5’s making up the 18 holes.  Besides having an opportunity at 12 closest to the pin awards, we will be playing 12 par 5’s possibly setting up a record LOW scoring weekend.  But you better count your balls before you leave…golf balls that is.  Swampfire features water on 16 of 18 holes while The Fountainss has water on 9 holes.  Come to think of it…you better bring your spare set of balls as well!

We'll be opening this year's Yoot Shoot on the Fountains course Friday, September 26th.

Fountains, the newest of our four courses, opened in 1995. This 6,800-yard course is a miraculous match for its beautiful setting.
Don White, PGA Director of Golf at Garland Resort, notes that this course is loaded with water challenges; it has water on nine of its holes,
mainly sparkling ponds enhanced by fountains.

We'll be closing this year's Yoot Shoot on the Swampfire course Saturday, September 27th.

Swampfire, opened in 1987, was the first of the four new courses at Garland designed by Ron Otto.

A round of 18 on this course will require patience and precision as all but four of the holes have water hazards. This course will be a true assessment of your shot-making ability.
